I finally got around to writing up a wreath pattern today. I actually sat down and made it last year for Christmas as it was going to be our last Christmas in Germany. I wanted to make a wreath for my own front door.
I searched high and low for a pattern that worked for me and found that there wasn’t one that I just fell in love with. So I did what I normally do in situations like that. I sat down with a couple of stitchionaries and made up a pattern my self.
I love the end result and wanted to share the pattern with you all, especially now that Christmas is just around the corner!
I can’t wait to start decorating the new house in the UK this year!
I hope you all enjoy the new pattern!
You can purchase and download the new pattern from the Patterns page or from Ravelry
We’ve been back a week now and have been married for just over a week.
Denmark is beautiful and the little island where we got married was simply stunning. Rolling hills, and the coast within a few miles. The hills were the surprise for me considering that the whole island is 10 miles long and 4 miles across!! The people are friendly and the locals loved the whole Indians dressed up and acting silly thing! I’m not sure they’ve seen the outfits in person before. 🙂 We loved it and so did the dogs. It was particularly hard to drag them away from the beach and water! We have water dogs for sure!!
The wedding itself was simple and beautiful. We had family with us and it was a perfect day. It rained early in the morning and that was the only time. We had perfect sunshine afterwards. We met at the Old Court House before going in and then my father walked me in once everyone was inside. The ceremony was quick, but we had champagne afterwards and spent plenty of time posing for photos. 🙂 Then we came out to a shower of confetti. Actually, it was three. Three takes of the same scene and the only permanent fixtures in all three were Ollie and I… 🙂 It was a pretty funny moment.
We went for lunch to a local fish restaurant and cut our cake, which my sisters had made for us. Actually on that note, I just want to thank my sisters for all they did before and on the day. My hair, makeup, bouquet, henna and the posies, buttonholes and cake were all done by my sisters. My new brother-in-law took the official photos, my brother the unofficial photos and my other brother-in-law was videoing everything, so thanks to them too. All a family affair!
That evening couldn’t have been more perfect. There was a fire pit where my family were staying, so we went round there, mum and my sisters made food and we set the fire going and sat outside till late. Drinking, chatting, chilling and with some music contributed by my fantastic husband with his guitar! S’mores and popcorn and plenty to drink.
I can’t believe how different things feel now we’re back home. It’s like a fresh page in our life story and it feels fabulous! I just wish the weather would perk up too! 🙂
We’re going back to Denmark for our holidays next year, it’s already been decided! We loved it…. thank you Denmark. 🙂
