Bits & Pieces…

I’ve just had an email from Kate & Diane, the girls behind The Inside Loop and it looks like The Loop is no longer going to be in production. 😦

This means that in the next few days/weeks I shall be moving all my featured patterns/articles off there and hosting them on my blog and Ravelry. I’ll let you all know when I have completed this, but in the meantime, The Loop is available till the end of January 2010.

I hope you will all join me in wishing Kate and Diane all the best for whatever endeavours they decide to pursue in the future. I’m going to miss the e-mag, as I am sure, are others.

Just a quick question as well for you all. Should I be charging for these once free patterns now that they are back with me? Or should I leave them as free downloadables. All opinions and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Have a good weekend!!

  1. what shame that The Loop will be no more.

As the copyright reverts back to you, I think you can do what you want with the patterns and some you will want to sell and some you will want to give for free, to lure people in…..

  2. I think that if they were once free, they should continue to be free. However, that means you won’t get any money from their use. THUSLY you should totally go into designer mode and come up with some NEW patterns for which you will charge. And for which I will be waiting with my debit card in hand. Love ya, Miss ya. Amy

  3. Well, from what I have seen, knitwear designers have a combination of both free patterns and patterns they charged money for. I think a good combination of both would be the way to go – maybe you could charge for the more complicated patterns that took longer to design.
