These have been on the needles for and AGE!
But they’re finally done. ๐
Yarn: Cygnet Wool Rich 4 Ply in Denim Mix (2137) x 2 50 gram balls.
Pattern: Sailor’s Ribbing from More Sensational Knitted Socks by Charlene Schurch
Needles 1 x Addi Turbo Circ 2.5mm (30cm)
It was a very easy pattern to memorise and it was one of those projects that I carried with me wherever I went. The only problem with it was the yarn. I am not a fan of Cygnet. This was my first time using it and it’s pretty rough on the hands. The socks do look very cool though and I have a theory on the rough feel. I think it might be the dye that caused it. Anyway, if that’s the case they should soften up in the wash.
Ollie is very pleased with them and doesn’t find them rough at all!!! But he’s a man. Says it all really. ๐
And for those that wanted to know about the yarn purchase:
This is from The Knittery in Australia. I bought myself Midnight in the sock yarns and I also bought PassionFruit for a friend whose birthday it was this weekend just gone. ๐ Thought it might remind them of home a little.
And as I have a new camera to play with and Ollie has some new clothes:
And just to be arty, a random piccie of me testing the new camera:
M’dear, you make me envy your black-and-white camera-fu!
It catches the light absolutely beautifully. ๐
The socks are also cool.
the socks look great and the sock yarn looks yummy and I like the artistic touch with the camera…..
Great socks – I think you’re probably right about the dye. I had the same with “Dalegarn – Baby Ull”. The lemon is lovely and soft but the navy is a tad abrasive – not a word that I like to associate with baby yarn.
The Knittery yarn looks scrummy.
Love Ollie’s catalogue poses!!
Congrats on the new camera! Great photos!
Love your Sailor Rib socks!
I have just persuaded DH to have a blue pair… yayyyy no black!
Ohhhhhh and that yarn is delish…… I’m supposed to be a good Fairy and use some of my stash up!
I’m not looking to buy any… honest
Love the arty shots of Ollie too
