A good day…

So far my birthday has been good. My sister is staying over and last night we didn’t get to bed until way after 2am in the morning.. and we had a bit of a lie-in today. A leisurely coffee and some surfing.

Yesterday I got to order my rocking chair, which is Ollie’s present to me as well as some knitting books and my sister finished knitting me a beret from Rowan Yorkshire Tweed 4ply.

Gree Hat

The pattern is from Hats, Gloves, Scarves by Louisa Harding and is in such a me colour!! πŸ™‚

She also bought me a leather jacket. One of the ones that I’d been thinking about getting myself for a while now..

I the piccie above, you can see the jacket and the beret in green and if you look closely you’ll also see some Artisan N Merino Lace Weight from Bronte Now that is pure yumminess! All I’ve done since I got it is touch it and rub it against my cheek… nice..

As I said above, Ollie also bought me some knitting books and they are way cool.

gifts, gifts, gifts

Admittedly, I’ve had them since last weekend, but that’s because we went to Borders. I have a few ideas of what I want to make from each. I like the DomiKnitrix book as there is a sweater i there, with a wolf head that Ollie really likes and there’s a pattern in The Knitters Bible that would suit Ollie too.

The Inspired Cable Knits is one that I wanted for myself and there are LOADS of patterns in there that I want to have a go at…

This should all help me in the quest to use up some of my stash!! Yay!

  1. What a lovely birthday haul! πŸ˜€

What is the DominKnitrix book like? I’d buy it just for the cover – completely unlike a “normal” knitting book!

I bought the Knitter’s Bible a few years ago when I was just getting back into knitting, and it was really helpful. It was the book that taught me there were other cast ons apart from cable. Who’d have thought it! πŸ˜‰

  2. Gorgeous birthday haul. And I like the look of those strawberries and champagne. Ollie looks like he’d had a bit already πŸ˜‰ Good luck using up your stash, looking forward to seeing photos of it.
